PICAN Annual Strategy Meeting 2025 Outcomes

APRIL 2025

ree

In March 2025, PICAN gathered in Suva for its Annual Strategy Meeting at a pivotal moment for the Pacific. With COP31, the Review of the Regional Architecture and the 2030 Agenda approaching, the meeting created space to reflect, realign and strengthen Pacific-led climate justice leadership.

Bringing together Nodes, members, partners and allies, the ASM reaffirmed PICAN’s role as a justice-first, Pacific-centred movement grounded in lived experience, solidarity and self-determination. Through talanoa, participants examined where the network stands, what must shift, and how to build collective power in the face of intersecting crises shaping our region.

This outcomes document captures the shared commitments, strategic priorities and next steps guiding PICAN’s work in the year ahead. It sets out key reference points including the Draunibota Commitment for a Climate-Safe Pacific, the evolving Pacific Climate Justice Demands and the strategic themes shaping the network through to 2027.
