Sindra Sharma, PHD

International Policy Lead

Biography

Dr Sindra Sharma is the International Policy Lead at PICAN. She holds a PhD in Environmental Policy and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), with an academic background in cognitive neuropsychology.

Sindra has worked extensively across multilateral environmental treaty processes, serving Pacific Small Island Developing States as an advisor, negotiator, and civil society representative. She also serves as a Coordinating Lead Author for the Small Islands chapter of Working Group II in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Seventh Assessment Report (AR7).

The Pacific Islands Climate Action Network (PICAN) is a regional network of civil society organizations working on climate change issues in the Pacific Islands region.

With four established national nodes and more than 190 member organisations throughout the region,  PICAN works to empower  Pacific Island communities and their leaders to be active players in the global climate change arena.
