Pacific Voices at COP30: Charting a Just and Resilient Future for Our Islands

As the world gathers in Belém for COP30, the Pacific brings a clear message: our survival depends on urgent, just, and decisive climate action. For our islands, the climate crisis is a daily reality shaping our oceans, our livelihoods, and our futures. Rising seas, intensifying storms, and shifting ecosystems continue to test our resilience - but they also strengthen our resolve to fight for climate justice and a livable planet for all.

COP30 must deliver real progress on a just transition away from fossil fuels, finance for loss and damage, and climate justice that holds major polluters accountable. It must also scale up adaptation and resilience support for communities already living with the impacts of climate breakdown.

The Pacific Islands Climate Action Network (PICAN) will be on the ground in Belém amplifying Pacific leadership, building alliances across the Global South, and ensuring that the voices of frontline communities shape global decisions.

This is not just another COP for us, it is a moment for the world to finally listen, act, and deliver — for the Pacific, and for all those on the frontlines of the climate crisis. The time to act, together and decisively, is now.
